November Update

A few months back I shared that I found a note pad with a story that I started in the 1990's (and yes I have to put 19 before 90's as my children kept telling me it's not the 90's yet. **insert eye roll here**). Well after I transcribed the notepad to my laptop, I couldn't get the story and characters out of my head so on the 5th of November I started writing every day to silence the characters in my head. If you didn't know November is National Writers month, there is even an competition you can enter, which I didn't as I decided late to start.

The note pad had right around 20k words, but needed a restructure, badly. So I got to work. As of last night I have just under 80k words in 29 chapters. I still have a few chapters to wrap up the book, but I didn't reach my goal to be finished by Nov 30th. But that's ok, I still consider this a win as I have been making myself come to work every day.

Needless to say my reading other stories suffered, but I was able to read my ARC's and participate in a couple new release launches. Untying the Knot and 3 Count were the highlight reads of the month and both have made Top 10 for 2022. I will update with what other books I was able to sneak in but for the month of December I will be focusing on finishing my book and working to try and get it polished for publication at the beginning of March.

I have a few ARC's in December I will be reading, The Target by Lena Hendrix being one of them. Other than that I plan on reading Holiday themed books like Resting Scrooge Face by Meghan Quinn.

I am also participating in a silent auction for Project NENA. I have donated a set of my other novels signed and all proceeds go to project NENA. If you read Long Way Home by Melissa Grace you will remember that name. It is a nonprofit in Nashville that helps under-served communities in Northeast Nashville. The auction is called A Very Merry Bookish Gala and there are some amazing items that you can bid on.

3 Count by Nikki Castle

3 Count (Special Edition Cover)
By Nikki Castle

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Sports Romance
Friends with Benefits
Guy Falls First

I fell in love with Aiden's personality in 5 Rounds by Nikki. He is such a fun and positive life force and this book just sealed those impressions.

Dani is a career driven, bad ass who is afraid of giving up her lifestyle for commitment.

The chemistry is off the charts and gives Tristan and Remy (5 Rounds) a run for their money. Chapter 8 is ๐ŸŒถ๐ŸŒถ๐ŸŒถ and I am here for it!

Loved the gym family scenes and that Dani falls right into their rhythm. The confidence in both Dani and Aiden should be illegal!! It was ๐ŸคŒ!!

I have a new all time favorite Meghan Quinn book and this is it!! This book took me through all the emotions. I laughed. I cried. I swooned. It was ๐ŸคŒ perfection!!

After being taken for granted Myla decides she has had enough and gave her husband divorce papers. I have to say this book hit home with me for personal reasons. Seeing Ryot realize what he has done to their marriage was everything.

I really enjoyed the flash back chapters and seeing their relationship develop. Seeing how their past linked to their present was perfect.

I loved the cameos from Huxley & Lottie as well as JP & Kelsey. But seeing Kazoo was the cherry on top!!

5 Rounds by Nikki Castle

First let me say this is a re-read for me and I only noticed this week I hadn't written a review. So here is my review!! Go read 5 Rounds now!!

I think we have all had that moment in life when we have to assess whether or not we are happy on the path we are on. The great thing about this story is there is such a great support group that doesn't hold back.

Banter in this book is off the charts. I love Remy and her relationship with her sister and best friend Jax. I love Remy's story about finding her passion and being such a strong & supportive woman.

Tristan is the epitome of sex on a stick. His story is more about having others accept him for who he is and not making suppositions about him.

I loved how both story lines ran parallel and crossed at times. But their chemistry and dirty talk was smoking hot!!

Mr Darcy Takes A Wife by Lunda Berdoll

๐Ÿ“š Review Time๐Ÿ“š

Mr. Darcy Takes A Wife
By Linda Berdoll

⭐️⭐️⭐️
๐ŸŒถ๐ŸŒถ.5

This continuation of pride and prejudice is a more in depth about their love & life. I did enjoy the look into what happened after Elizabeth & Darcy married but I did feel it went long. The language was at times hard to read as they tried to stay with Austen type of writing but with more risquรฉ story lines.

There was a lot about side characters that didn't really add to the storyline moving forward that could have been left out. But I did like the look into the war side with Fitzwilliam. I would have loved to read more about Georgianna and Fitzwilliam's story.
