Where do I start? I adore this book so much. I laughed so hard during the entire book. Rylee's girl gang is both unique and  amazing. Wedding crashers turned friends turned lovers. It has all the earmarks of the perfect romcom.

Both Rylee and Beck have pasts that they are still struggling to heal from. Lost souls that find each other in paradise. When everything is said and done, they were made to help each other live life to the fullest, and I just love that.

I haven't laughed this hard in a while. Meghan knocked this out of the park. The entire premise was fresh and unique. The thought of a war between twins cracks me up as I have twins, and Tessa & Roxanne totally capture their rivalry.

I love the story of Myles & Tessa, and the prologue with their history was absolutely perfect for setting the scene. The mutal pining for each other and finally getting over their hang-ups to act on their feelings was captured so perfectly.

Breaker Cane is my favorite Cane brother. He is charming, funny, sweet, and sexy!!

I have to say that I love how Lia and Breaker met and that they are both nerds!! After meeting in college, they spend the next decade best friends. They never crossed that line even though they both had secret crushes.

When Lia tells Breaker she is engaged to her boyfriend, and her soon to be mother in law is a monster in law, Breaker volunteers to help with the wedding prep. The way Breaker helps Lia discover her true self and what she truly wants without so much as a declaration of love from him but complete and utter acceptance of what she wants, truly is what a best friend would do.

The way their love story develops is amazing, and with true friendship as the  foundation for their love.

Novella

A short but fun Holiday read. Nola is thr sister of Ryot and Banner from Untying the Knot and living back home. A small Christmas loving town where her ex lives.

I love that Port Snow and the Knightly boys are in this novella. Grandma Lousie and Arden are two fun loving older meddling characters pass penpal letters between Nola and her ex Caleb but they dont know who they are writing to. I loved reading the letters.

Only complaint is it was too short. But it was funny, heart warming and just perfect for the season.

November Update

A few months back I shared that I found a note pad with a story that I started in the 1990's (and yes I have to put 19 before 90's as my children kept telling me it's not the 90's yet. **insert eye roll here**). Well after I transcribed the notepad to my laptop, I couldn't get the story and characters out of my head so on the 5th of November I started writing every day to silence the characters in my head. If you didn't know November is National Writers month, there is even an competition you can enter, which I didn't as I decided late to start.

The note pad had right around 20k words, but needed a restructure, badly. So I got to work. As of last night I have just under 80k words in 29 chapters. I still have a few chapters to wrap up the book, but I didn't reach my goal to be finished by Nov 30th. But that's ok, I still consider this a win as I have been making myself come to work every day.

Needless to say my reading other stories suffered, but I was able to read my ARC's and participate in a couple new release launches. Untying the Knot and 3 Count were the highlight reads of the month and both have made Top 10 for 2022. I will update with what other books I was able to sneak in but for the month of December I will be focusing on finishing my book and working to try and get it polished for publication at the beginning of March.

I have a few ARC's in December I will be reading, The Target by Lena Hendrix being one of them. Other than that I plan on reading Holiday themed books like Resting Scrooge Face by Meghan Quinn.

I am also participating in a silent auction for Project NENA. I have donated a set of my other novels signed and all proceeds go to project NENA. If you read Long Way Home by Melissa Grace you will remember that name. It is a nonprofit in Nashville that helps under-served communities in Northeast Nashville. The auction is called A Very Merry Bookish Gala and there are some amazing items that you can bid on.

I have a new all time favorite Meghan Quinn book and this is it!! This book took me through all the emotions. I laughed. I cried. I swooned. It was 🤌 perfection!!

After being taken for granted Myla decides she has had enough and gave her husband divorce papers. I have to say this book hit home with me for personal reasons. Seeing Ryot realize what he has done to their marriage was everything.

I really enjoyed the flash back chapters and seeing their relationship develop. Seeing how their past linked to their present was perfect.

I loved the cameos from Huxley & Lottie as well as JP & Kelsey. But seeing Kazoo was the cherry on top!!

This was a great slow burn story from beginning to end. This is definitely a much lighter spicy story with only 1 real steamy scene.

From the beginning I fell in love with Sully the Alzheimer's suffer grandpa. I loved Fallon's love for family and keeping the legacy of her grandparents alive. She is a great character full of love, compassion and determination.

Sawyer was a bit of a surprise for me. The issues that led him to Canoodle (love the name) and meeting the towns people was your typical Hollywood love affair gone wrong. But he surprised me with his compassion and heart toward Sully and Fallon.

I love their love story and that the base was friendship, family and community. Side characters were amazing but Jaz totally stole the show for with her snark and switchblade.

Football vs Farm

Oh how I love this continuation from The Mother Road. I really enjoyed reading about Crew who is the son of Marley and Porter from The Mother Road. I loved the fact that there was another road trip to continue the legacy of the McMann family road trips.
Hazel reminded me of Porter quite a bit. In fact I feel like the roles in this book were flipped. Crew was more like Marley and Hazel like Porter. I love that Marley, Porter and even Paul were brought back for this. I still love eccentric Uncle Paul. He is hilarious.

The descriptions of the road trip, the food, the places & people were amazing. I really want to experience this road trip now!!
Crew & Hazel have a lot they are dealing with and not just their feelings for one another. Reading about them discovering their feelings for one another and what they really wanted in life was wonderful. I laughed, I cried and I swooned. All amazing things to happen in one book!!

Lost Heir

Mature Content

To date I believe this is Meghan Quinn's most spicy book. If you are not comfortable with super duper spice, then this is not a book for you.

The long lost heir story is always a great one. You never know what dynamics you will find & Lily was no exception. Lily's life is far from demure and royal. But I did love her sense of humor, her care-free attitude and the fact that see was looking for a connection somewhere.

Keller is not your typical royal advisor. He has multiple layers that I loved finding out about. His love for his King and Country are very evident. I love that he is tasked to teach Lily all about the country & their traditions.

Going from a Miami bathing suit salesman to a princess is quite a transition & it is definitely a decision that she has to make. In the end I loved watching their struggles unfold & if they were going to over come them!!

The chemistry between Keller and Lily is off the charts. I love that Keller really did try and resist. I love that Lily is the instigator but that Keller made his Alpha/Dominance known!! P.S. there is some BDSM, dirty talk and piercings. It is not for the faint of heart.

Love the idea of blind dating and restaurant. I loved watching the character develop from Noely. And the date ideas were on point. I need that cooking class with all the kitchens in my life.

I think that Dylan deserves a book because let me tell you, she is hysterical and the banter between her and Noely was awesome.

Not to mention another brother hysterical moment (see The Mother Road for another hysterical brother relationship). I love that their whole family are avid Hockey fans. And her niece was hysterical!!

The Mother Road Review

Ok let me start off by saying: this is my all time favorite (so far) from Meghan Quinn. I laughed so hard during this book that I had to leave the bedroom or I'd wake up my hubby!! Yes there are a couple steamy scenes (between Meghan and Elsie Silver I'm looking at Tents in a whole new way) but even if you aren't into steamy scenes you still need to read this. Just skip those parts that make you blush.

The dynamic with this entire family is so realistic. I felt like I was in that RV with the family experiencing the trip. 'Son of a Herbert Hoover' is how the dad swears in this book and his variations had me rolling!!

This book made be smile, laugh, cry and cheer. I'm not gonna lie, I did actually cheer at the end & it made me want to take the Mother Road trip from Santa Monica to Chicago!!

This book will stay with me for a long time!!

Summary:
Jacket blurb (by Meghan Quinn)
"Never in a million years would I have pictured myself as an axe-wielding, dragon lady, chopping up multi-colored flannel shirts into my very own plaid mulch. But here I am, chopping away my frustrations.

It all started when my brother, Paul, convinced me to go on one last family road trip across the Mother Road with him and my dad. Just like old times, right? Wrong. What Paul fails to mention is his best man, Porter, will be joining us, who just so happens to be my childhood crush and the man who broke my heart four years ago.

What is supposed to be a fu , family bonding experience across Route 66 turns into a war of pranks, awkward moments and bathrooms full of dirty flannel shirts and day old beard clippings. Paul's know-it-all attitude and Porter's devilish charm brings me to the brink of my sanity on my seven day trek across the United States with three bearded men in a small 1980's RV."
