This is a such a great book. It was funny and has achingly sad plot lines throughout.

Violet, an advice columnist, discovers her cheating spouse and her world unravels with one event after another.

During one crazy event she meets Dez, a local fireman who helps Violet learn to be more true to herself and helps deal with the fallout from the craziness of the unlucky or lucky events in Violets life.

I loved watching both Violet's personal layers unfold as well as her and Dez's relationship unfold. The messages that Violet writes in her column is for poignant and makes you think. As someone who has dealt with her own fertility struggles, it was refreshing to see the issue discussed and tastefully addressed. Definitely recommend this book!!

This was a great slow burn story from beginning to end. This is definitely a much lighter spicy story with only 1 real steamy scene.

From the beginning I fell in love with Sully the Alzheimer's suffer grandpa. I loved Fallon's love for family and keeping the legacy of her grandparents alive. She is a great character full of love, compassion and determination.

Sawyer was a bit of a surprise for me. The issues that led him to Canoodle (love the name) and meeting the towns people was your typical Hollywood love affair gone wrong. But he surprised me with his compassion and heart toward Sully and Fallon.

I love their love story and that the base was friendship, family and community. Side characters were amazing but Jaz totally stole the show for with her snark and switchblade.

This was a great read. I loved seeing Tatum grow and loosen the tight reigns she thought she had to have to conquer her anxiety.

Cooper was a great character more layers than just a sex machine. It was a great reminder that we shouldn't judge others, we don't always know what is going on inside someone.

This was a highly sexual book. But I have to say the way she wrote the steps Cooper took to make sure Tatum was ready and taught her about herself and her body was tastefully written. Trust, friendship and love. I always worry about the virgin loss story but this was well written and the chemistry they had was off the charts.

This was a super cute and sweet fall read. I laughed so hard at "The Sisters" and some of the things they got up to.

After a story Josie wrote in her journal at 15 gets released around school she was bullied.  15 years later she is still struggling with coming to terms about this story and the feelings it evokes.

When Reece the object of that story comes back into her life he tries to help her come to terms with being the pirate girl.

This is a super fun and well told story. Reminding us that the words we use towards others can have a lasting affect. It also tells the story of how we can become strong even if we are a victim and over come hardships.

Such a great book. I laughed so much throughout the entire thing but also felt heart ache. I did love how the hear impaired was represented in this story.

Meyer is a single dad of a hearing impaired child. Ex stand up comedian turned writer who ends up managing Farley Jones an up & coming female comedian.

Farley is trying to make a name for herself in the stand up world & winds up finding a found family in Meyer & Hazel as well!!

You could feel the tension between Meyer & Hazel which I love how the growth of their feelings was written. And once they gave in, it was worth the wait.

This was a great read. Knox is a bit of a grump but is an amazing chef for the Eden's restaurant "Knuckles". We learn about his story and what brought him back home after culinary school.

Memphis is a new mom with no support or clue on what she is doing. In other words she's a hot mess. I really enjoyed the character development with her. Spoil rich kid turned penniless new mom. It was amazing to see the entire Eden family fall in love with her and her son.

Willa & Cade are my new favorites of Elsie's world!! That is high praise after a bull riding cowboy!!

Willa is a bundle of sunshine that blows into Cade's quiet world & spins it off its axis. Cade is a quiet grump with a huge heart. He loves son & family more than anything which leaves very little for himself.

Willa is a fly-by-the-seat-of-her-pants type of gal who falls in love first with Luke Eaton, Cades 5 year old son. Showing love for a motherless (by moms choice) child really gets you in the heart.

Willa helps remind Cade that he is just as important as the rest of the family. Slowly she is able to coax the real sexy cowboy to make his appearance & boy were we not disappointed. You know the saying,"it's always the quiet ones" is relevant here.

Fate has a funny way of bringing Izzy & Blake together in this rom com, heavy on the com!! Their banter was spot on!!

What I really enjoyed was reading about how they were determined to be & stay friends & nothing more, even though sparks were flying from the 1st pumpkin spice latte..

I also enjoyed Izzy's relationship with her cousin & friends. But the cat relationships with Blake & Izzy was the cherry on top of a brilliant sundae.

This was a super cute book. Loved the horror meets event planning aspect. Kate has child guilt for not going into the family business but wants to prove herself to her family.

Drake is a horror novelist but has run into a bit of writers block. Wanting to write a story that means a little extra something he needs Kate's help to get it out the right way.

After one disaster after another will they be able to see they have the potential of having their own happily ever after or will it blow up in their faces?!

What a great read!! I am new to Lynn Painter but absolutely loved this book.

Klutzy Liv finds herself having to lean on her brother & his roommate after a comedy of errors leaves her homeless. Liv is hilarious and her string of bad luck just kept me laughing.

Collin has only ever seen Liv as his best friend's little sister and a walking disaster until one day a wrong number text changes everything.

I enjoyed seeing their relationship develop and their witty banter. Not to mention their steamy scenes. Their chemistry was spot on. With the level of banter between them you knew their passion was just under the surface. Just took one match to light their inferno. Only wished there was more about their HEA.

Oh how I love this continuation from The Mother Road. I really enjoyed reading about Crew who is the son of Marley and Porter from The Mother Road. I loved the fact that there was another road trip to continue the legacy of the McMann family road trips.
Hazel reminded me of Porter quite a bit. In fact I feel like the roles in this book were flipped. Crew was more like Marley and Hazel like Porter. I love that Marley, Porter and even Paul were brought back for this. I still love eccentric Uncle Paul. He is hilarious.

The descriptions of the road trip, the food, the places & people were amazing. I really want to experience this road trip now!!
Crew & Hazel have a lot they are dealing with and not just their feelings for one another. Reading about them discovering their feelings for one another and what they really wanted in life was wonderful. I laughed, I cried and I swooned. All amazing things to happen in one book!!

The Rebel Blog Tour with Lena Hendrix

The Rebel, an all-new steamy opposite-attract small-town romance full of heat from bestselling author Lena Hendrix is available now!

I was supposed to lay low while my Hollywood drama blew over. Not fall for a man with golden retriever energy who isn’t afraid to take what he wants.

When I find myself back in the odd little town of Tipp, Montana, the last person I expect to fall for is an army vet turned cowboy.

Let alone discover he was my first kiss all those years ago. Back then, I never even knew his name.

Josh Laredo is smart, successful, and sexy as hell.

When my efforts to sneak onto his federally protected ranch blows up in my face, he covers for me.

Bit by bit he breaks down the walls I’ve created to protect my heart. And there's a filthy mouth buried beneath all that good guy bravado.

He’s determined to peel back every one of my layers and give us the second chance he thinks we deserve. All he wants is to see the real woman beneath the Hollywood smile.

But I’m searching for answers, and as more secrets are revealed, I’m learning that things aren’t always what they seem in Tipp, Montana.

Excerpt

“One dance.” Even as the words left my mouth, I knew it was probably a lie.     From his scuffed boots to the way his shirt strained against the muscles of his shoulders, everything about him was my type. Carefree. Charming. Dangerous. A mixture of small-town boy and wild, roguish charm. There was just something that told me if he asked for a second dance, I’d say yes.

My heels pinched my toes, but it was a familiar feeling, so I stuffed the discomfort down and concentrated on the ruggedly handsome man in front of me. God was he beautiful. His dark hair was long around his ears, curling the tiniest amount at the ends.     I couldn’t tell if the stubble on his cheeks was intentional or if he’d just not bothered with a shave, and I could see how easily the local girls must moon over him.     His movements were slow. Languid. Even the casual way he moved across the room screamed, Big Dick Energy.

But it was his smile that did me in. It was all white teeth and earnest charm.

As the music pumped from the speakers, his solid arms pulled me around the dance floor. Despite not knowing the steps, he led with confidence, his hand at my lower back, pushing and pulling me into the correct position. From the outside, it may have even looked like we knew what we were doing.

I let myself smile at him. Not the polished, demure smile that had been drilled into me since I was young, but my real, too-wide smile that rarely appeared.

He didn’t have a clue.

When he’d made the comment about rolling out the red carpet, I thought maybe he knew, but the flash of recognition never came—that dawn of realization when someone discovers I am the Madison Colt. It wasn’t there.

Maybe Des was right about my hair after all. Dyeing my typically platinum-blonde hair back to my natural auburn was an act of defiance and a night of one-too-many glasses of red wine, but it did a damn fine job hiding the fact that a celebrity was drinking watered-down cocktails and dancing with the sexiest man in the bar.

For the briefest moment, I was free of her.

As the song died down, Josh kept his strong hands planted at my lower back, our hips pressed together. We’d laughed and stood, breathing in each other’s air, as the room continued to dance around us.

His hand stroked up my back as he leaned toward a table of people staring in our direction. “Come hang out for a minute.”

I wanted to. More than anything I wanted to be Effie Pierce, normal girl passing through town. A thousand reasons to stay flipped through my mind. I could enjoy a night out, free of the expectations and schedules and rigidity of my life. I could be a different version of me.

Until someone recognized me.

They always did.

I smiled up at him. “I should go.” I pulled away and took measured strides toward the door.

“Wait a second,” he called at my back. “Can I see you again? Get your number?”

I closed my eyes as the pang of what-ifs shot through me. But I knew how this ended. If I left now, I’d be saving myself from the uncomfortable conversation later.     “Thank you for the dance.”

“Effie.”

My name was liquid over gravel in his throat. I flushed with heat as he leaned over me.

Kiss me. Kiss me and I’ll stay.

We stayed locked.

Waiting.

This was a great book. I loved the banter between Mac & Freya. Body issues are such a tough topic but I really believe Amy Daws handled it was class. Not everyone is going to be barbie size and not everyone is going to want a barbie size partner.

The overall theme of family and friends no matter what you look like is wonderful. Watching their love affair develop was great. I love me some Scottish brogue and I really enjoyed picturing the Highland Games & the kilts. Would have loved a bit more of a look at the guys actually competing. But nowi need to go back and read the Harris bros stories!!

I absolutely loved this book & the Eden family. I don't know why I waited so long to read it.

Winn is starting over in her grandpa's home town as the Police Chief. I enjoyed reading about Winn and her personality. It is refreshing to see a FMC in the police role!

Griff & Winn were supposed to be a one night stand, but that turns into more. Their chemistry is electric and I only wished there were more scenes showing that.

Griff is the oldest in the towns founding family who also runs the Eden's ranch. I enjoyed reading about him and seeing his personality unfold.

This is a great Murder mystery which I won't spoil but when a dead body turns up on the Eden ranch Winn & Griff must learn to trust each other.

Whew, this book had me all over the place, but in a good way. Before I get in, please note Trigger Warning. Child abuse, violence, child abandonment, and language.

Now, with that said, this story had me in the heart from the beginning. These main characters, Dex and Lanie, both have traumatic pasts that follow them into the present.  Reading about their experiences had my poor mama heart just aching.

I loved how their characters developed throughout the story. Not to mention, I love all the side characters and banter. The MLM group text had me rolling!! My mama heart loved the bond and relationship Lanie had with kids.  I do feel the explanation of the bully and ex-wife was rather rushed, like build-up was far longer than the climax. But I am glad there was closure.

Love the premise of making a list if meet-cutes to try and recreate.  The story was well written but was a slow read. Could have been trimmed down.

I did love the characters. Especially Anette and Ben. I loved that the writer showcased her disability in a positive way and how she was learning to be herself no matter the obstacles.

The read was slow but I really think this would make a great movie. I loved all the meet-cute ideas and the results.

I will be honest and say I was not expecting much from this book. In fact I got it merely because of the cover. But man did I underestimate this book.

Widow Lady Katherine Boscomb inherits her husband's fortune and newspaper which allows her to write articles that normally at this time in history was very frowned upon.

I love that the mystery of the Commandments Killer stayed mysterious the entire book with twists and turns throughout.

I enjoyed the development of the characters, especially Katherine and Inspector Evesham. I will say it was on the slow side. But it was well written just perhaps it could have gotten to the climax a bit sooner with more of the aftermath.
