Feels Like Home by Melissa Grace (ARC)

Feels Like Home

Chronic Illness
Friends to Lovers
Found Family

Another great book by Melissa Grace!! I feel that Katie and Dallas' story started early on in the series, but I loved seeing them make that jump from friends to Lovers.

As someone who suffers from chronic pain, Melissa really captured the struggle of not only the patient but also their support system as well. Seeing Dallas discover something just for him and not for others was another highlight.

I laughed so hard during this book but also felt the real heartache for Katie. Not to mention the small looks into heart-wrenching saga that is Luca.

November Update

A few months back I shared that I found a note pad with a story that I started in the 1990's (and yes I have to put 19 before 90's as my children kept telling me it's not the 90's yet. **insert eye roll here**). Well after I transcribed the notepad to my laptop, I couldn't get the story and characters out of my head so on the 5th of November I started writing every day to silence the characters in my head. If you didn't know November is National Writers month, there is even an competition you can enter, which I didn't as I decided late to start.

The note pad had right around 20k words, but needed a restructure, badly. So I got to work. As of last night I have just under 80k words in 29 chapters. I still have a few chapters to wrap up the book, but I didn't reach my goal to be finished by Nov 30th. But that's ok, I still consider this a win as I have been making myself come to work every day.

Needless to say my reading other stories suffered, but I was able to read my ARC's and participate in a couple new release launches. Untying the Knot and 3 Count were the highlight reads of the month and both have made Top 10 for 2022. I will update with what other books I was able to sneak in but for the month of December I will be focusing on finishing my book and working to try and get it polished for publication at the beginning of March.

I have a few ARC's in December I will be reading, The Target by Lena Hendrix being one of them. Other than that I plan on reading Holiday themed books like Resting Scrooge Face by Meghan Quinn.

I am also participating in a silent auction for Project NENA. I have donated a set of my other novels signed and all proceeds go to project NENA. If you read Long Way Home by Melissa Grace you will remember that name. It is a nonprofit in Nashville that helps under-served communities in Northeast Nashville. The auction is called A Very Merry Bookish Gala and there are some amazing items that you can bid on.

Long Way Home - ARC Review

ARC review:
Long Way Home by Melissa Grace
Release date October 4th.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
🌶🌶🌶.5

Starting Over
Self Discovery
Childhood Trauma

Derek is totally swoony worthy!! I have loved his quiet & thoughtful demeanor throughout this series and I love that his story gets told.

Jo, who is Katie's best friend, was introduced in Home Again. I love that we get to meet this new character and watch her character develop. Plus we get to dive a bit deeper into Katie's character.

The way Jo & Derek meet is absolutely stellar and I love how it unfolded. Jo & Derek have similar issues they are working through in their lives. This storyline is about finding yourself and living your best life while dealing with past trauma and/or family expectations.

One of the things Melissa Grace excels at is using real life issues to bond characters together. I also love the overall theme of family throughout the entire series. Not all families are the same and you don't have to share blood to be family!! CAN NOT wait for book 4.

Cash & Ella's story!!
We meet them in Home is Where You Are. We had a glimpse of their mutal crush in that book. And Melissa Grace did not disappoint.

Ella is quite frankly one of my favorite characters. She is loyal, fun, compassionate & fierce. I loved diving deep into her relationship with her daughter & mom. One thing Melissa Grace does well is really brings real life situations to life.

Cash is also a favorite character of mine. I love his relationship with all the band members. Having lost his wife like Ella lost her husband really bonds them. And can we say forearms?! They get me every time.

I laughed so hard during this book at some of the antics that Ella gets up to with Cash and others. It was another quick read for me. Binged yet another book!!

Reverse Age Gap
Musician/Ex Musician turned Baker

Second Chances

You guys...I don't know where I've been but I have fallen very quickly for Melissa Grace's writing!!

Loved this amazing story. The Liv story line is sadly a common real life story and I loved watching her character develop and learn to trust not only herself but others.

Jax's story is also sadly very real too. But I love they fact that no matter how he started out in life he became a good man.

Their love story is amazing to read about and I basically binge it in a day. I couldn't put it down.
